What I Thought of the Nudestix All-In-One Face Colour

When I came across Nudestix Nudies Matte All Over Face Blush Colour (£33.50 on the Nudestix UK website/$35 on the Nudestix US website) I was really excited to try it. Not just because I’d heard it was a beautiful balmy blush and lip and eye colour all in one stick but because it also comes with a blending brush on the other end.
This double-ended essential promised to be a real find. Gorgeous colours, multi-tasking, grease-free balm and zero need to rummage around your makeup bag looking for a brush. What could go wrong?
Here’s my honest review.
The product details
This multi-tasking stick comes in 12 shades and each one weighs 7g. The pigment on one end is balmy but with a matte finish – perfect for my oily skin type as this means it’s hydrating without the greasy finish.
The brush at the other end is protected by an easy-to-remove lid, and the brush can even be twisted off so that you can wash it without disturbing the rest of the product. They’ve clearly thought of everything.

First impressions
My chosen shade was Sunkissed Pink – a pretty rosy colour that I was sure would suit my medium skin tone and blue eyes. I liked how neat everything was – from the wind-up and down balm, to the secure click-shut lids and compact brush, if I chucked this into my handbag I knew it would all stay intact. And not a cracked powder in sight.
The first thing I did was unscrew the brush to see how simple it was to take on and off. I’m pleased to report this was easy peasy. Next was to test the balm on my hand.
It felt super smooth and satisfyingly glided on. It was dewy but not too shiny (although less matte than I expected) and the pigment was incredible. So good in fact that it would definitely need diluting with a brush.
The balm is in a perfectly round shape – around the size of a ten-pence piece – so when I applied the balm to my cheeks, I looked like a doll. The brush would soon sort that out, so I took the lid off the other end and began to blend.

The bristles are quite hard and straight – there’s not much fluffiness to them – so this meant that the brush was quite tough on the pigment. Unfortunately, it almost wiped the colour off my cheeks completely, rather than blending it and I realised that this brush needed more of a gentle touch.
I applied the colour again and this time acted a little more gently with the brush end. This worked and my cheeks now had a pretty, natural flush to them.
Next, I applied the colour to my lips. As a blonde, I really love a pink lip because of how flattering it is. This one was no exception and as soon as it went on, I felt instantly prettier.
It’s a little tricky to achieve a neat lip with such a large stick though – the flat end really isn’t lip-shape friendly – but I knew that with more use the shape would shift and there would be a more accurate, rounded end soon enough. There was no need to blend with the brush here as I was very happy with the colour.
Finally, I dabbed some onto my eyelids – now, this did need blending. But once I was done with the brush, I really liked what I saw. The three colour placements just tied up nicely together and it didn’t look too matchy-matchy as I had originally feared. It was actually prettily subtle.
And can we just have a moment for how unbelievably crease-free this stuff is on the eyelids? Wow.

My satisfying results
This could quite possibly be one of my new favourite multi-taskers. I really love the Jones Road Miracle Balm which you can use pretty much everywhere, but it has a tendency to look a little greasy in certain lights, and the big round pot isn’t the easiest to carry around.
The Nudestix Nudies All Over Color is portable and, despite being less matte than I expected, it doesn’t end up looking as shiny as the Jones Road Miracle Balm. The pigment is stronger too and, crucially, it lasts longer.
The only thing I would change is the bristles on the brush. They are a little hard and I wish the brush could be fluffier for a softer blending experience. As long as you know to blend carefully and not to push too hard with it, you should be able to blend it without wiping it off completely.
My favourite part about this product is the way it looks on my eyes and lips – the shade is a really pretty pink and it doesn’t dry my lips out.
I love a product that does more than one thing, as long as it’s not a gimmick just because of clever packaging. This does have clever packaging, but it definitely isn’t a gimmick. I reckon it might just become one of my makeup bag staples. And I may save up for an extra one for my handbag too.
What other users are saying
Erin (johnlewis.com) agrees with me about the subtle all-over finish. “Love this. It goes on nicely and does not make me look overly done but put together.” And Shell05 says, “The most natural looking blush as if it’s coming from within but still fully showing the colour. As you might have guessed, I am not stopping at two.”
However, Saba had a discrepancy with Nudestix. “The shade was not for me. I tried to exchange but Nudestix does not return or exchange items.” I have to say, the more we shop online, the more I agree that returns should be accepted.
Brands like Trinny London allow you to try a product at home, within reason, and if it’s not the correct shade, you are able to return it and get your money back.
“Hygiene is obviously a factor here but let’s face it, most things are bought online these days so why should we be expected to just accept that our money will go to waste if we choose the wrong shade, having not seen it in the flesh?

Value for money
£33.89/$35 is a huge amount of money to spend on a blusher. But remember, this is a blusher, lip colour and eye colour all in one. And whilst I think certain other Nudestix products are a little gimmicky, in my opinion, this one really isn’t.
The pigment clings on and the functionality of the product is super convenient. It’s compact in size but packs a punch in results. Plus, I think it’ll last a while too, thanks to not needing to apply much in one go. It’s one to save up for or put on your birthday list.
The takeaway
Who doesn’t love a multi-tasking product that actually works and lasts? It may have a large price tag and could be called gimmicky, but having tried it for myself, I’m blocking this out and seeing it for what it is – a high-performing blusher, statement lipstick and pretty eye colour. Three products and a brush all in one portable stick? I’ll definitely be buying it again!
