With so many lipsticks and blushers on the market, it can be really tricky to know what to spend your money on. And, frustratingly, it’s pretty common to come across a product with the perfect formula, only to find the shade options aren’t for you. Or to find one in the perfect hue and a disappointing texture.

I guess we just need to accept it. The perfect lip and cheek product doesn’t exisT…

Wait a minute. Ever heard of fwee Lip & Cheek Blurry Pudding Pot? (Available at Amazon US, YesStyle which ships to UK/US/Canada/Australia and on the brand’s US website.

It’s a lipstick and blusher in one (you can even apply it on your eyelids too) that promises to be the ultimate formula – highly pigmented, easy to blend and brilliantly buildable.

The best bit? It comes in 30 shades. Yes, 30! So, you can imagine my excitement when every single one of them landed on my doorstep. Where I would store them would just have to be tomorrow’s problem.

But did the formula live up to the hype? And was my perfect colour match in there somewhere? Surely, I’d find one shade out of the 30 that suited me. Or maybe, just maybe…several?

Keep scrolling to find out how I got on. Clue: There’s a very happy ending. (And yes this an #ad, but believe me when I say the love here is real, advert or not!)

Cute huh? The idea is that you curate your own unique look by either wearing them individually or choosing your very own colour combination. I just liked cherry-picking my favourite names. ‘Oh!’ and ‘Baddie’ were in my top two.

The formula itself is described as a bouncy, airless mousse, aimed to replicate the texture of a delicious, fluffy pudding. It helps to blur, smooth and give your lips and cheeks a flawless filter. Clever.

The finish is matte, but it promises not to be your usual matte formula – this is apparently more velvety, more airbrushed. In all honesty, a matte finish has always been too dry for my lips but I was prepared to be proven otherwise.

First impressions

Apart from my obvious first impression – the shock of just how many shades were lying in front of me – I really loved the look of the little pots. There is something aesthetically pleasing about them. They’re chunky in size and smooth to the touch. I couldn’t wait to dig in – literally.

Because you do need to dig into the formula. When I opened my first pot, I skimmed my finger across the top expecting a load of pigment to come off on my finger but, to my surprise, my finger simply bounced off the mousse and the formula stayed dry. It was actually kind of cool.

So, I pressed and scooped a little harder this time and it really was as if I had dipped my finger into a fluffy, strawberry mousse (it helped that I had chosen the shade ‘Like’ – a pretty, berry pink).

“Wow,” I thought. This was a texture I had never experienced before in all of my 18+ years of being a beauty journalist. Even on my finger, it felt baby-soft too and completely lightweight. I didn’t feel like I was about to apply a heavy load onto my lips and cheeks, just something that was whipped and airy.

I applied it to my lips first and was instantly struck by how pigmented it was. Every inch of my lips was covered in this beautiful pink shade, and it really did look and feel like a filter. As if someone had just tapped an icon on their phone and erased all of the lines and imperfections on my lips then and there.

I pressed my lips together which confirmed its velvety, matte finish – there was zero stickiness but thankfully, it didn’t feel dry or uncomfortable. It felt comforting and smooth and it expertly blurred out any blemishes or fine lines on my lips and gave my pout an even, flawless finish.

Next, I used what was remaining on my finger to dab some onto my cheeks. Not only did this feel super smooth but my cheeks were given a gorgeous flush of matchy-matchy colour that tied my whole makeup look neatly together. Again, it had a velvety, blurry finish that simply boosted my confidence. So far, so good!

Shade picking

Whilst going through all 30 shades, I was like a kid in a candy store. I needed to filter my favourites down to two or three otherwise I knew I’d be there all day (although, to be honest, I would have been pretty happy with that).

I eventually whittled my favourites down to three – a nude for daytime, a red for evening time and a fuchsia pink, well, for any time.

For the nude, I made a beeline for the nude colours and chose ‘Without’ which *klaxon* is now – officially – my new go-to nude. I love it.

It’s a gorgeous nudie-pink but it isn’t too Barbie pink and this works perfectly for me, plus the formula is buildable so I can make adjust it to suit me. This shade enough to make me feel confident about wearing it during the day, every day, without feeling too ‘dressy’.

Worn on both my lips and cheeks, it’s just right for my colouring – fair to medium skin, blue eyes and blonde hair – and works beautifully to bring my makeup look together and made me feel pretty.

As we move onto red, this might be a good time to tell you that I’ve never been very good with lipstick. I normally prefer to go for a clear gloss or a very subtle tinted balm. This is because my lips have always been my least favourite feature because of their shape, so I don’t usually like to draw attention to them.

This means that applying a red lipstick is quite a daunting task for me. On the other hand, this is 2025 – us girls can do anything we put our minds to, and I was determined to find one I liked. And let’s face it, if there was going to be a range that contained my perfect red, it would be this one.

I went through the shades from the red collection meticulously and landed on ‘Mule’. It had a slight blueish undertone to it which I knew would suit me more than one with brown undertones. On it went and wow, that pigment! It was bright and vibrant and everything I was scared to put on my lips…and I absolutely loved it. Plot twist!

Initially, I was worried the red would make my cheeks look too flushed or like I’d spent an hour at the gym but when you apply the product onto your skin, it dilutes a little and just gives you a healthy pop of colour. Perfect.

OK, so now I was having fun. I had found two shades I would genuinely wear IRL and I wasn’t done yet. Next up was a fuchsia pink. Because fuchsia pink is my all-time favourite colour, so finding one I could wear on my lips and cheeks would nicely complete my mission.

I went straight to the coral colours as, earlier, I had clocked a shade I liked from there and sure enough, ‘BFF’ was just what I was looking for.  A hot pink that made me equally as nervous as the red one, but I now had a newfound confidence after trying ‘Mule’.

On to my lips it went, velvety smooth and oh-so beautiful. What a colour! It just popped. I felt instantly glam and started planning potential outfits to wear it with in the future. Again, it diluted perfectly on my cheeks. And I felt so confident in it, I actually spent the rest of the day wearing it.

That’s when I realised the Pudding Pots’ smooth texture lasts for hours. Even after it had worn off slightly, a flattering stain was left in its path, and my lips were left looking nicely defined right up until I removed my makeup that evening.

And because they’re so buildable, you can adjust their intensity. So some days I can wear it boldly and on others, I can reduce the pigment slightly, depending on my mood.

A moment for the lip brush

There’s been all this praise for the product itself, but I haven’t yet mentioned the genius fwee Fingerlike Silicone Lip Brush which you can buy to apply the Lip & Cheek Blurry Pudding Pot. Whilst applying the product with your finger is easy and efficient, this brush has been developed for those who have long nails and/or don’t want the mess of using their finger.

The brush looks like a pen at first glance but take off the lid and you’ll find a fingertip-shaped silicone end that perfectly dips into each pot and scoops the product out. It helps to distribute an even amount of the mousse formula onto your lips (it feels so smooth on application too) and it expertly aids precision. I didn’t make a single mistake using it.

I found it much easier to use the brush to apply the product on my lips, plus you can wipe it clean and use it to apply a whole new shade straight away if you want to. Much cleaner and more efficient than a lip brush with bristles. I am seriously impressed.

Also available are the Pendant Keyrings which are little locket keychains you can keep your favourite shade in for on-the-go touch ups. Ok, this brand has thought of everything.

The takeaway

I think the proof is in the pudding (sorry couldn’t resist the pun) about how much I love the fwee Lip & Cheek Blurry Pudding Pots. Until now, I have always failed at finding a lip and cheek shade that suits my colouring whilst also bringing out the best in my least favourite feature – my lips.

So to find not just one but three (and counting) shades I truly love that make me feel confident in myself whilst blurring out my imperfections is quite a big deal for me.

With so many shades to choose from I can pretty much guarantee everyone will be able to find one they love. With such a beautiful texture that lasts and lasts too, these little pots have become an essential staple in my makeup bag.

And most importantly, they have helped me grow to love my lips. Now that’s some serious progress!
