Breaking into beauty retail can feel almost impossible for indie founders – but one accelerator programme claims to be changing that.
After helping brands like Make Waves secure a rollout into 300 Boots stores and ByErim launch into 50 locations, Breakout Beauty UK is officially returning for 2026 with more than £1 million worth of expert support, mentorship and commercial opportunities for emerging British beauty startups.
Created by Growth Studio, the fully funded accelerator is designed to help high-potential beauty founders scale beyond social media buzz and build commercially viable brands with long-term retail potential.
The programme made its debut in 2025, attracting more than 200 applications from ambitious founders across the UK. Twelve finalists were selected for six weeks of intensive mentoring and growth support, with two standout winners ultimately securing a combined prize package worth £350,000.
Since then, the results have been hard to ignore. Make Waves has rolled out into 300 Boots stores nationwide, while ByErim has now launched in 50 Boots locations – a rapid retail leap that many independent beauty founders spend years trying to achieve.
Now, the programme is returning bigger than ever with an expanded ten-week accelerator and a significantly increased support package aimed at helping the next wave of beauty entrepreneurs scale into multi-million-pound businesses.
“Breakout Beauty UK was created to give ambitious founders the kind of access, expertise and opportunities that typically take years to build,” said Paul Finch, Chief Architect of Breakout Beauty UK and co-founder of Growth Studio.
“The impact we saw in our first year – from retail listings to investment interest – proved just how powerful the right support network can be.”
As part of the 2026 programme, founders will receive hands-on guidance covering everything from retail strategy and investment readiness to scaling community engagement and sales growth. The accelerator will culminate in a live pitch event in front of investors, buyers and beauty industry leaders.
Boots returns as the programme’s lead retail partner alongside TikTok Shop and Bird & Bird, while new partners joining for 2026 include IFGlobal, Amcor, CEW UK and FDD International.

The programme also comes backed by an impressive line-up of industry names. Entrepreneur and former Dragons’ Den guest Susie Ma and presenter Rochelle Humes will serve as ambassadors, while the Beauty Board includes Mitchell Halliday, Michael Douglas, Oriele Frank, Ning Cheah and Jamelia Donaldson.
According to Grace Vernon, Head of Ignite, Foresight and Trends at Boots, the programme exists to help founders navigate the difficult jump from launch phase to sustainable growth.
“Launching a brand is more accessible than ever, yet scaling it sustainably can be much more of a challenge,” she said.
“That’s why programmes like Breakout Beauty matter. They help founder-led brands understand the key elements of making a brand successful – not just creating virality but building something that also has longevity.”
This year’s overall prize package is valued at £850,000. One Grand Prize winner will secure a launch into 50 Boots stores alongside senior mentoring from Boots executives and a dedicated TikTok Shop support package featuring creator matchmaking, reduced fees and fulfilment benefits.
A runner-up brand will also receive a boots.com launch with additional marketing support and TikTok Shop growth assistance.
Applications for Breakout Beauty UK 2026 opened on 22 April, with the programme beginning in July before culminating in October 2026.
