If you’re a regular LTG reader you’ll know; we love beauty.  The textures, the smells, the confidence boost, the sheer ritual of it all… we’re here for it.

But if you know us, you’ll know that there’s one thing we love even more; making sure you, the reader, come before our own preferences or profit.

In an increasingly noisy beauty space, we think it’s our job to cut through the sheer volume (both figuratively and literally) to bring you information you can trust.

That’s why our motto is information, not influence. It’s also why our three main commitments to you are:

  • Zero affiliate links

That’s right, you won’t find any in our articles – not one – because we’re not here to influence your buying decisions or gain from them.

  • The unvarnished truth

When we write a product review, rest assured, we share our honest opinions in their entirety. The good, the bad, the ugly – all of it. Because who has time to be second guessing what they read online?

  • Judgement-free, always

We know that beauty isn’t always about how we look, it’s often about how we feel. And we’re here for all the feels. So, you’ll never find us preaching about whether a particular celebrity’s had fillers, putting pressure on you to try the latest microtrend, or calling out others for their beauty choices.

Consider this a judgement free zone, no matter what.

So, as you’d expect, when we decided to run our first ever beauty awards, we wanted to do things a little differently to the rest.

Introducing the Live That Glow Independent Beauty Awards 2025, the awards that cut through the noise and put you front and centre.

About the awards

We’re proud to be working to make our beauty awards truly independent.

That means:

  • Our awards are free:

This is free both to enter and for winners to license the winners’ logos.  That’s because we don’t think an award can be truly independent if its participants are determined by the size of their marketing budget.

  • We’ve kept our list of categories super tight:

Our categories are determined only by the beauty issues reader polling told us really matter to you. The only exceptions are categories we thought important to the wider beauty community, including Best Accessible Beauty Product for the product doing the most to make the lives of less able-bodied beauty users easier.

  • Finally, we’ve made our entire process completely transparent:

From our judging panel to our timeline and judging criteria, we’re taking you BTS to see how beauty awards work.  And if you ever have any questions, you can always just drop us an email at awards@livethatglow.com.

You can find the full awards details here, or keep reading for a sneak peek of what’s in store.

The categories

  • Best Blemish Product
  • Best Sensitive Skin Product
  • Best Dry Skin Product
  • Most Wearable SPF
  • Best for Wide Awake Eyes
  • Best Niche Fragrance

The process

  • Awards open February 21 2025
  • Brands send written submissions February 21 to March 21
  • Submissions close March 21
  • Shortlisted products are sent to judges to trial
  • Judging takes place April 14 to May 9
  • Winners announced mid-May

After we receive written entries from brands and individuals, we’ll be shortlisting submissions based on a simple numerical basis of how many basic values each entry fulfils. You can read more about our judging process here.

Each shortlisted product for each category will then be judged by three members of the judging panel, who will be giving numerical scores based on efficacy, ease of use, longevity and user experience, as well as their honest notes.  The winners will then be the products with the highest average scores.
