Dr Sonia Khorana is a GP with a special interest in dermatology and Live That Glow’s own skincare agony aunt. She is passionate about helping people feel confident in their own skin.  Here, she advises on whether you still need to use a washcloth even if your cleanser is oil-based.

Should I be using a washcloth with my cleanser every time I wash my face even if my cleanser isn’t oil-based?

Dr Sonia says:

Using a washcloth is not always necessary, especially for daily use, if your skin is sensitive. For most people, using a washcloth a few times a week with a gentle cleanser is fine but if you have sensitive skin, the excessive rubbing may cause redness.

If you don’t use an oil cleanser, a washcloth can still help with removing makeup or impurities but isn’t required daily unless you want to use it in your routine.
