Bybi Babe Balm Bronze: An In-Depth Review

As someone who’s far too lazy to put more than about three minutes into doing my makeup, one of my favourite products is a multipurpose one that can be used multiple different ways on the face for a pretty makeup look in seconds.

Throw in some skin-friendly ingredients and a coppery bronze pigment that’s universally flattering and I’ll pretty much be rebuying for life, so Bybi’s Babe Balm Bronze- a little multipurpose balm from one of my favourite natural skincare brands- is one of my all-time favourite products.

Read on to find out exactly how this little pot of coppery goodness can transform your makeup routine.

This is new, up-to-date information. We updated this article in July 2023 to add our further thoughts on Babe Balm Bronze, complete with updated prices.

Bybi’s Babe Balm Bronze review

A pigmented follow-up to Bybi’s original Babe Balm (a multipurpose moisturising balm for hair, skin and nails), this pot benefits from the addition of bronze mica for a sweep of colour.

Boasting a shea butter and camellia oil base (as well as a host of other goodies), this hydrating balm feels slightly damp to the touch, a little like lip balm, and is really moisturising.

Like everything else from Bybi it’s also vegan, cruelty-free, 100 per cent natural, and its packaging is recyclable.

It has a universally flattering shade- a warm copper- and a formula that applies ridiculously easily, making this very quick to use.

How to use it

More of a copper than a cool gold, this offers a warm wash of dewiness and shimmer that works for eyes, cheekbones and lips for a bronzed goddess look.

Really easy to apply just with fingers, the balm thins down to a nice liquid texture on contact with the heat of hands, making it quick to dot across the face and blend out.

To get even more value out of this I also really like using it on collarbones and tops of shoulders as a subtle highlighter.

The full list of ingredients

Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Squalane, Rhus Verniciflua Cera, Caryocar Braziliensis  Fruit Oil, Mica, Helianthus Annus Seed Oil, Titanium Dioxide, Cocos Nucifera Oil, Hibiscus Sabdariffa Seed Oil, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract, Tocopherol, Calendula Officinalis Flower, Maltodextrin, Gardenia Taitensis Flower Extract, Iron Oxides, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot), Root Extract, Ubiquinone (Coenzyme Q10), Citric Acid (+/- CI 77019, CI 77891, CI 77491)

The takeaway

All natural and really flattering, this coppery multipurpose balm is one of my favourite no makeup-makeup products.  And although the pot it comes in is tiny (6 ml), I need so little to get a glowing, bronzed look going that the value here is pretty impressive.

Great for: Bronze tone fans and anyone who likes their makeup on the easy-to-apply side.

Not-so-great for:  Oilier or acne skin types, who might find this a bit oily.

Bybi’s Babe Balm Bronze is $17 for 6 ml/ 0.24 oz, Bybi
