I’ve Tried Almost Every Erborian Product – Here are the Ones to Invest in

When I was first introduced to the Erborian BB Cream around seven years ago, I was blown away by the formula.

I’d never heard of the brand before, but this product managed to make my skin look and behave in a way I’d been willing it to for years – not too greasy, not too matte, flawless but not caked, smooth, even and most importantly, protected. As first attempts of Korean skincare go, it was a successful one and I was thirsty to try more. And so my love for Erborian Korean Skin Therapy began.

Erborian says their mission is to combine Korean heritage, product efficacy and self-esteem. And each product I’ve been lucky enough to try has ticked all the right boxes for my skin, been simple to use and made me feel better about myself. Mission accomplished.

So as a huge fan of this fab brand, I’ve put together a list of my top 7 Erborian products. From serums to face tints to eye brighteners, these are the ones worth spending your money on if you’re new to the brand.

1. BB Cream

This SPF 20 BB Cream is half skincare, half makeup product. It seems quite thick when you first squeeze it out but once you blend it into your skin (I use my fingers) it just melts in and leaves a smooth, bouncy, flawless finish that honestly doesn’t look cakey or overdone.

In my opinion there aren’t enough shade options but I’m lucky enough to have found a suitable shade for both winter (Clair) and summer (Dore). Often, a skincare makeup hybrid might be too greasy for my oily skin but this is completely grease-free and just leaves a velvety finish in its wake. Not and slip’n slide in sight.

2. CC Crème

If I want my “second skin” fix, I turn to this. Another skincare-makeup hybrid, this product looks like a white moisturiser when you first use it but once it’s applied to the skin, it changes pigment to create a lightweight, natural coverage.  Sure, it acts as a great moisturiser but its main aim is to enhance the skin and blur texture and ‘imperfections.’

Again, the shade options aren’t vast but if you can find one that works for you it’s a real must if you’re searching for a natural, second skin finish. It’s super easy to apply (I use my fingers with this one too) and it smells divine.

3. Centella Cleansing Gel

What I love about this cleansing gel is how easy it is to use. It’s a gel formula (containing soothing Centella asiatica) so there’s no messing around with thick creams, milks or cleansing balms – just add a splash of water and you can wash your face with it in seconds. It’s so gentle and refreshing to use  and I used mine right down to the very last drip.

The only negative point could be its strong scent – I usually love my skincare to have a fresh smell but I have to say, this has quite a dominating fragrance. It doesn’t linger though so if you can get past it you’ll have soft, glowy, makeup and dirt-free skin in no time.

4. Bamboo Super Serum

The perfect daytime serum that just melts into the skin and another one I’ve used to its very last pump. It turns into water on contact with the skin which can feel quite ‘thin’ when you first apply it and sometimes this makes me think the benefits will disappear quite quickly.

However, thanks to the bamboo – which is high in skin-loving minerals – and hyaluronic acid, my skin feels instantly plumped, protected and comfortable. And it’s provided with ample hydration and glow for the rest of the day. A must for serum lovers.

5. Super BB Concealer SPF 25

For a concealer with heart, try this niacinaminde, Korean white ginseng and escine-packed number which is so gentle even the skin under my eyes – which is notoriously partial to a bit of stinging – happily laps up. And because this is Erborian, it isn’t just a concealer either. It’s also an under-eye skincare product which promises to fade dark circles and fine lines within a month.

What I love is that even though it’s for medium to full coverage, it doesn’t look cakey or thick, it just glides on seamlessly, blends in easily, brightens my under-eye area and covers blemishes without any need for touch ups during the day.

6. CC Eye

This one’s less concealer, more tinted eye cream to correct, brighten and smooth the skin (with SPF 20). Just like the CC Crème, it goes on white then clever encapsulated pigments blend into the skin to create a second skin-like finish.

It feels super hydrating when it first goes on – there’s nothing worse than an eye cream that drags across the skin – and it’s really cooling too. This is down to both the metal applicator and formula and you can really feel the de-puffing working.

7. Skin Therapy Milky Serum

Erborian Skin Therapy Milky Serum

Aimed to be used at night, this milky serum targets 7 things – texture, evenness, luminosity, wrinkles and fine lines, nourishment, suppleness and plumped appearance. It’s packed with 17 plant extracts and active ingredients and aims to make skin more hydrated and less tired after night 1 – something I definitely noticed.

My complexion feels light, fresh and comfortable the minute I apply it and this continues through until the next morning. I love how the texture of my skin feels now – like it’s been washed with a gorgeous, velvety sponge. And overall I feel like my skin is more even and supple. For such a beautiful, hard working night serum to be under £50 is quite amazing.

The takeaway

For skin that is well looked after and looks pretty fantastic too, I recommend trying Erborian. I particularly love the hybrid skincare to makeup products as it feels so cost effective using a two in one and I love that my skin is truly protected too.

Korean skincare might be at the height of its popularity but if I had to choose one K-beauty brand, it would be this. I hope you enjoy using these products as much as I do.
