We are *bang* in the middle of the holiday season, with parties and get-togethers happening almost nightly now that most of us have finished work to enjoy time with family and friends at the end of the year.
So, now is the perfect time to get some inspo from the A-listers and celebs on what to wear to make a statement at those Christmas and New Year do’s.
And we’ve got a look for just about everyone. From makeup to hair accessories and hair colours to the latest nail trend.
5 of the Best Celeb Winter Looks to Inspire Your Holiday Season Events
1. Tartan prints
Tartan is synonymous with winter, and Alexa Chung has been taking on the tartan trend in one of her most recent Insta posts from December 19. Conjuring up thoughts of cosy fires, stags on the wall, plush throws and burning log fires, deep reds and greens are the perfect colours for the holiday season.
To nod to this trend, think tartan skirts paired with cosy tights with boots, felt scarves, cute tartan ribbons, bows and scrunchies, and bold red lips.

2. Golden blonde hair
It’s official: blonde is back this winter. Beyonce and Rihanna have recently stepped out sporting long blonde locks, with Bey going for an icy shade (we recently wrote about the ‘Golden Hour blonde’ trend here) and Bad Gal RiRi going for a waist-skimming length and more of a golden ‘bronde’ hue.

3. Bold ‘just off the slopes’ cold girl blush
Unless you’ve been absent from Insta and TikTok, you’ve probably seen the latest cold blush trend taking the beauty pages by storm. A ‘just off the slopes’ look with super rosy cheeks that sweeps over the nose and right up to the temples, this look mimics having been out for a day in the Alps, returning to the log cabin with cute rosy cheeks.
That’s right, you don’t *actually* have to shell out for a holiday in the snow to get this look. Choose a pink cream, gel or powder blusher that suits your skin tone and layer it up over your base makeup. I think matte blush works best for this, but choose whichever you prefer!

4. Chanel runway bows and pearls
Manchester went *mad* this December 2023 when Chanel’s annual Metiers D’Art show hit the streets of Machester – a rainy street in the Northern Quarter, to be exact – bringing with it future trends and A-list guests like Tilda Swinton, Hugh Grant and Kristen Stewart.
Since then, we’ve been seeing the simple black bows and iridescent pearls that are synonymous with the brand all over social media. Particularly perfect hair accessories to liven up a ponytail or half-up-half-down hairstyle, bows and pearls also fit right in around the wintertime – just like this stunning look from the one and only Ariana Grande.
If you want to jazz up your tresses without breaking the bank or taking a trip to the salon, accessories are the perfect way to do it – and there are loads of options, whether you want to tie a simple bow or quickly add a pearl clip like this Easilocks clip set from ASOS (£12.00 on the ASOS UK website/$16.50 on the ASOS US website).

5. Shimmer winged liner
Upgrade your regular eyeliner with a shimmer option for the holiday season. Recreate Selena Gomez’s look either with a glitter eyeliner pencil and matching eyeshadow or using your eyeshadow wet with an angled brush for the wing and with a dry brush for the rest of the look.
Still haven’t mastered the perfect eyeliner yet? No judgement. Check out our beginners winged eyeliner tutorial here.
